These Courses have been reviewed and approved by the Committee on Education of the American College of Certified Wound Specialists to ensure that the course offering supports the elements and of the mission and vision of the ACCWS, including enhancements of quality patient care, excellence in education, support of research and improving the knowledge base of practitioners in the interdisciplinary field of wound management.

MC Strategies: Wound Management Course

The Wound Management course consists of 10 online lessons developed to educate clinicians about all the relative issues to caring for the patient who has a wound, not just for treating the wound. This is an interactive continuing education online program that explains acute and chronic wound healing; describes the pathophysiology of arterial, venous, neuropathic, pressure, and atypical wounds; and discusses current standards for treating wounds including the use the different types of dressings, debridement, and physical agents.

WoundEducators.com: Evidence Based Wound Management- Certification Course

The Evidence Based Wound Management Course is designed to educate and prepare health care practitioners to become certified in the rapidly growing field of wound management. This is an exciting and comprehensive course that includes both an online and a home study component.  The course is self paced so it can be completed at anytime and from any location that has internet access.  The Evidence Based Wound Management Course has been approved for 27.5 physician, nurse and physical therapist CME/CE continuing education credits.

The Committee on Education of The American College of Certified Wound Specialists is pleased to offer application documents for individuals who are interested in obtaining approval to present a transdisciplinary wound healing course designed to prepare individuals to sit for the Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) examination that is provided by the American Academy of Wound Management. The purpose of the ACCWS course application process is to ensure that each course offering supports the elements of mission and vision of the ACCWS, including enhancement of quality patient care, excellence in education, support of research and improving the knowledge base of practitioners in the interdisciplinary field of wound management. The course offering should elevate the standards of prevention and care and treatment of acute and chronic wounds, thereby improving the public health.
