The Back to Basics course offered by the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists is designed to educate clinicians from all services about the physiology of wound healing, the process of diagnosing wound etiology, identifying factors that interfere with healing, and selection of appropriate interventions based on best practice and research. The one day course also includes identification of atypical wounds (the typical being arterial, venous, pressure and neuropathic) and updates on the newest dressings and biophysical technologies. Designed for the clinician who is just getting into wound care, the course will stimulate clinicians to learn more about wound management. Our courses are available to anyone seeking to further their wound care education (including non-members) and is not only for post certification education.
